Position Summary

The Intermediate Electrical Engineer contributes to highly visible technology and product development activities within the engineering organization. In consultation with the Design and Product teams you are responsible for electro-mechanical design, development, and testing of novel sensor products. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a high-tech, fast paced, product-development company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive development and design of next generation technologies and new sensor products
  • Contribute to culture of intellectual property generation
  • Interact with a multi-disciplined team to innovate novel solutions for future products
  • Perform schematics design and multi-layer PCB layout using Altium Designer
  • Responsible for firmware development, debug, simulations and testing
  • Generate technical documentation for transfer of technology to product development and manufacturing
  • Conduct design reviews and failure modes and effects analysis
  • Source components and interface with supply chain to procure required parts
  • Support team members with documentation including detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials, performance specifications, and UL submittals


Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a similar engineering role within an electronic design / development / manufacturing / validation / testing environment
  • 5+ years of related experience in R&D and product development
  • Experience taking new technologies and products from concept to commercialization
  • Experience with fast prototyping and design of complex analog and digital electronic circuits and assemblies
  • Must be proficient in C, C++ & HDL coding languages
  • Proficient with various MCUs and interface standards including UART
  • Strong programming knowledge of various serial protocols such as I2C, SPI, USB, and Modbus
  • Knowledge of analog signal transmission protocols such as 4-20mA & 0-10V
  • Knowledge of EtherCAT protocol is an asset
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, with strong attention to details
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team player
  • Excellent time management skills and commitment to meet deadlines
  • Flexible and willing to work in very fast-paced environment
