Delta Controls is hiring a full-time Software Developer to work with the Professional Development Services (PDS) department. Professional Development Services (PDS) provides advanced technical services and engineering assistance to our customers, including our global network of distributors, OEM clients, and Direct Corporate Accounts. For each project, we work closely with the customer to develop the exact solution they need, either by customizing existing Delta products, or by creating custom solutions.

Responsibilities:

Professional Development Services (PDS) provides advanced technical services and engineering assistance to our customers, including our global network of distributors, OEM clients, and Direct Accounts. For each project, we work closely with the customer to develop the exact solution they need, either by customizing existing Delta products, or by creating innovative new solutions.

The position being offered includes providing the following services:

  • Sales consultation and solution conceptualization
  • Full-stack web development
  • System integration assistance (BACnet, Modbus, Node-Red, other building control protocols, room booking software, ODBC interfaces)
  • Python development for embedded integration modules
  • Controller embedded software modifications

As an Intermediate Software Developer within our PDS team your skills will allow you to customize or modify our existing web based facilities management software, create custom add-ons, and develop software modules to integrate to other applications.

Your experience with back end web programming and python development allows you to create innovative, effective, and easy to use applications that exceed the expectations of the customer.

Working knowledge of Delta Controls embedded software is an asset.

Main skills required:


Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience integrating web services and APIs using JSON
  • Experience working on embedded solutions
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience with Zend Framework and MVC architecture
  • Experience using source control repositories such as GIT
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and how they operate


Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years applied experience as a software developer
  • Degree or Technical Certification from an accredited Electronics Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Web Technologies program, or equivalent experience
  • Experience using web technologies including HTML, PHP, SQL databases, and JavaScript to create responsive websites
  • Strong communication skills including verbal, written and drawing / visual techniques
  • Ability to work independently, and quickly change focus between multiple projects
  • Self-driven and results oriented
  • Strong creative skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and be flexible in a demanding environment
