Deskside Service Technician - Tier 2

Position Summary:

Microserve is looking for a Deskside Service Technician, Tier 2 to join our onsite team in Richmond, BC servicing our clients. The Deskside Service Technician, Tier 2 main responsibilities will be to help find solutions to a variety of technical problems by responding to Tier 2 hardware tickets.  


They will have the ability to diagnose and repair hardware and software issues while delivering exceptional customer service to our client. We are looking for someone who provides great customer service while solving technical problems. Responsibilities:

  • Maintains, deploys, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs workstations, laptops, printer systems, other computer hardware, software, and related peripherals
  • Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems
  • Performs diagnostic repairs and preventative maintenance for our clients in the local area
  • Trains and consults end users on workstations, laptops, printer functions and other computer hardware and related peripherals as required
  • Ensures timely updates are entered into the service management tool
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to our clients
  • Manage multiple priorities


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School diploma is considered an asset
  • Experience in the service and repair of computers and/or printers
  • Experience diagnosing software, network, and other IT issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive customer service skills
  • CompTIA (or similar) Certification is considered an asset
  • Manufacturer certifications are considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Can work independently while maintaining great communication with management and team  
  • This role requires minimal travel within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley therefore access to a car and valid drivers licence is a must
  • Must be able to lift up to 50+ lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to manage your day-to-day tasks
