Position Summary: 

 

We are looking for two (2) Audio-Visual Unified Communications Specialist (AVUC) to join our growing AV team in Victoria and Vancouver, BC.  The AVUC Technician/Installer will be able to work with our clients to support their AV Meeting room requirements. The successful candidate will gain experience in variety of client environments, addressing new tasks and requests each day. Main responsibilities include installing several different MTR solutions. This would typically include a Display, MTR appliance, Camera, Mic, Speaker and Touch Panel.   

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Use hand and power tools to mount devices on walls and under tables 
  • Perform installation tasks in a timely manner  
  • Work closely with the project team and communicate effectively 
  • Test point to point functionality of systems   
  • Review equipment list with customer upon delivery   
  • Travel to various job sites required    
  • Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the customers 
  • This role is primarily Monday to Friday, but overtime may be required from time to time.  
  • Other duties assigned as needed  

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Effectively and respectfully communicate with employees, customers and colleagues   
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner   
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines   
  • Basic computer knowledge and how it is applied to modern video conferencing  
  • Knowledge of software installation and troubleshooting in a Windows environment 
  • Basic knowledge of Audio /Video wiring 

 

Education and/or Experience:   

  • Minimum 2 years of IT or AV Experience 
  • Formal education in Electronics or related field is considered an asset  
  • Additional desired assets (not required):   
  • InfoComm CTS General Certification   
  • Microsoft Teams room training 

Requirements:  

  • Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage is paid)  
  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces  
  • Able to work with basic handheld tools  
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds  
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check
